"Editing" Blog

That's a picture of the editing program with our footage in it, with my famous yellow walls. Today we started editing, which is pretty cool. We planned on just doing the basic beginning stuff. Like cutting the footage and putting the scenes together. With every blog, there ends up being a problem. There was a scene where my partner is "beating up" his brother. It was hysterical and he asked my to put it on his jump drive. Well, I couldn't find the footage of that happening. So I had to go and get the SD card reader and look at the contents of the card again to find the footage. Then, I realized that there's many scenes that were supposed to be there, but weren't. So, What happened? Something I may have forgot to mention, is that we filmed on two different cameras. The school camera, and my personal camera. Somehow, everything that I filmed on my camera is gone! I don't know how or why but it happened and I'm upset about it. Filming took so long. It's upsetting. I'm sorry that I couldn't explain how nice editing was, because I didn't edit.

We didn't edit the footage we had because it's out of order. We filmed with my camera only because the other camera died, and when my camera died we started filming with the other one. All the dialogue and end scenes are gone and I can't figure out how to get it back. This is very tragic, a very tragic moment indeed. Also, every time I raise my hand to ask the question, the teacher sits down and I lower my hand to not inconvenience her. I guess I'll get my question answered next class. Lets hope filming goes better this weekend.

I hope you have a good rest of your day.

Filming Blog

Hello, I hope you're having a nice day.

This is a picture of the camera. I apologize for the semi-poor quality, I took this photo with my phone. Also, ignore the back round, I cleaned my room as much as possible. The person I'm working with and I filmed this past weekend. Exciting, I know. Since I didn't plan it out as well as I thought, we only ended up filming half of the film. So, the film starts in the nighttime and ends in the day, we filmed the day time part. We met at my house on Sunday. We were filming with me, him, his brother, and my brother. Him and his brother came to my house at about 3:30 and we started working pretty quickly. It took way longer than I thought it would. I thought it would take less than an hour, and I was wrong. We started at 3:30 and ended around 7:00.

Another thing was the camera kept dying. Once they came to the house I remembered I forgot to charge the camera. The camera had about 30 minutes on it before it was going to die. We did as much as we could with it before it died. It took a long time to charge, but then I remembered that I own a camera. I use that for photos rather than videos. So we put the SD card and used that camera until it died. But the time that it died, the other camera was in the other room charging. This whole time, the entire rest of my family were all jammed into the other room with my dogs so they wouldn't be in the way. Well, dog, because only one of the two dogs is annoying with people. It was funny because we would try to film in my room and in the back round you would see my dogs very sad looking head. Also, I'm pretty sure there might be scenes where you can hear the clicking of his toe nails on the floor in the back round. Another thing was at one point my dishwasher was being very loud so I opened it so it'd stop running and then I forgot to close it. So when we were done filming my little brother who does the dishes was yelled at. That's fun. We only have the beginning pert left to film and then we're done with filming. If he's able to come and film again, he might come Friday or Saturday night.

"Filming" Blog

Hello, I hope you're having a nice day.

So Friday night (the 14th) to Saturday afternoon (the 15th) was supposed to be the day we were supposed to film. But sadly, that didn't end up happening. Of course, it was me who couldn't make it to the filming. Also, to be clear, I did not leave him hanging. Anyway, I told him that I couldn't film this weekend for personal reasons, which I'd prefer to keep personal. We've rescheduled the filming to be this weekend, Saturday 22nd the and Sunday the 23rd. I guess I'm looking forward to it, I don't really know. It's not the actual "oh heck someone I barely know is coming to my house" it's that I don't like the idea that someone I barely know has my address which is not a nice thought to have.

As you can imagine, since I didn't film this weekend I did other things. During the day Friday was an entire train wreck caused by yours truly. The deep depths of my stomach are aching with embarrassment and anxiety just by thinking of it. What did I do you may ask, well I'll tell you. I made the bold decision to come out as Non-Binary to the 12 people in my math class. Why did I do that? I have no clue. I had an opportunity and took it, I guess. We didn't do much Friday night. I played video games on my computer and stayed up until 3 a.m., so the usual I guess. Saturday was kind of different, but not really. I slept until 12 p.m. and woke up to go pick up groceries from Walmart with my mother. It was raining, so we had to get home and put the stuff away quickly so the groceries wouldn't get wet. After that we went to target where we bought earbuds and discount valentines candy. Sunday me, my mother, and my brother went to a pancake party thing my mom's friend was hosting. The funny thing was I never verbally agreed to go to this event. Anyway, while at that small gathering I got to hold an infant and have a very in-depth conversation with my mother about why mothers smell their newborns. I also got to play games with a small child belonging to another one of my mothers friends. My parents worked Monday, so my brothers and I were left to do anything our little hearts desired. Which was absolutely nothing. The only thing productive Thing I did was math homework that I didn't even finish, But was smart enough to start at like 11 a.m. so I could do one problem and then not work on it again for a half an hour. I love that for me. Well, now we're here. It's Tuesday, but I'm not going to publish it today. Take this as my gift from the past.

Storyboard blog

Hello and welcome. I hope you're having a good day.

This is the google slides document with pictures of our storyboard papers. The storyboard is basically the shooting script in pictures. It has our whole film in frames, pretty exciting I know. The boxes show him getting robbed and killing the guy, as well as the different camera shots, angles, and movements. That's what our film will consist of. The shots, angles, and movements consist of hand held shots, over the shoulder shots, high angles, low angles, close ups, and such. The first five were drawn and written on by Taylor. The other five were drawn and written on by Peter. Personally, I think both of our drawings are pretty cool. Also, coming up with the studio and production companies names was difficult. But at the end, we pulled through and came up with really dumb names, but that's okay.

Titles

Hello, welcome. I hope you're having a nice day.

This is our title design google slides document. It tells the design for the titles, as well as how they'll be entering and leaving the screen. It also compares itself to the titles of other crime films. The titles are a very important detail to a film. It's important because it gives credit to the participants, as well as a "first look" of how the film will be. This presentation also gives a brief explanation of the working title. We answered the two key questions on the last slide. That gives an idea of what the titles may look like. Some lines give vague connotation explanations. This presentation covered the titles of our opening sequence.

General Filming Information

Hello, welcome. I hope you're having a very snazzy day.

This is the general filming information google slides presentation. It consists of the location, schedule, participants, and health and safety. As of right now, this is where we're going to be and who's going to be in it, and such. For the schedule, I planned for us to get together and film this weekend to leave time for re-shooting. For the location, We're filming at Taylor's house (I love referring to myself in the third person) as you could see by the picture. Also, no, the house isn't that long. It was just the photo being cropped to fit in the slide. The participants include, Taylor, Peter, and Taylor's brother, Gregory. The overall for the health and safety is that we're all going to be extremely alert and observant to avoid any mishaps. If you'd consider getting hit by a car a mishap, I guess. Another thing to point out is, things might change. The times in the schedule might change due to weather changes or availability. The amount of people coming might change, whether more or less people decide to come and help.

Planning: Shooting Script

Hello, welcome. I hope you're having a nice day.

This is the shooting script. It's basically a step by step of what you're going to see when watching our film. Just like the sound script, there's a lot. But again, like the sound script, two minutes is a long time. The story told here is the guy, Bruno, getting robbed. Bruno chases the robbers while in spirit form and isn't able to catch up. He gets robbed then a debt collector guy comes to his house, and tells Bruno that since Bruno has ignored all of his pay your stuff notices, he's getting kicked out of his house and has a week to leave. Bruno was angry, as you might be. He then kills the collector. A big turn, I'm aware. We were contemplating the whole killing the collector part because getting robbed and killing a guy all in the first two minutes of a film is a lot and that goes against the whole 'two minutes is a lot of time'. But another thing was, both getting robbed, and killing a guy, on their own they're not that interesting. But together, it's just a lot going on.

Planning: Dialogue and Sound script

This is the google slides presentation with our sound and dialogue script. These are an outline (sort of) of what you'll hear when watching our film. Something we recently put into consideration, was the fact that the guy didn't have a name, so his name is Bruno. It this point, I've very aware that things are defiantly going to change and be added to what's going on. We wanted to make the two minutes sort of scared-ish and confused. Like, if you read it, it says he gets robbed and he's scared or just nervous, as you would be if you were being robbed while still at home. There are still scenes and lines of dialogue that we're contemplating on removing or adding to, yeah. There was a lot of talking and idea sharing to get to this point. I'm aware it looks like a lot, but if you think about it, two minutes is a long time. My partner and I hope that this will work because it's a really cool idea.

Have a nice rest of your day.
