Editing Blog

Hello, Welcome. I hope you're having a good day.

As of right now, It is Tuesday, December 3rd, I say this because I've just started editing, so I'm going to put more stuff here Thursday because there will be more to talk about. Also, Happy December, I guess. Anyway, today marks the first day of editing. We got into class, the teacher told us what we're doing. I actually didn't know we were doing an editing blog, but here we are. Yay knowledge. So far, it's going well. Nothing has crashed, nothing is going badly, Wow surprising. As I sat here and went through the footage and imported it onto Pinnacle studios, I realized something. That something was this probably won't need as much cutting as the commercial did. You see, the commercial was filmed and editing entirely by myself. The music video however, I filmed it with other people. So there isn't much of the awkward me reaching around the camera. Now that I think about it, the only problem that occurred as of now, was I couldn't get the SD card out of the reader. You may or may not recall the fact that I had never done that before, because the teacher dumped the footage onto her computer because of other technical issues. So naturally, I googled it. Cue the panic, because most of the google things that showed up were that you needed sewing pins and stuff. But I ended up pulling the SD card out, no damage done. I imported the footage and put it in the proper places. After that, I played it to get an Idea of what it will look like. Honestly, It made me smile. It was like a "Oh look, I made this and I had fun doing this." but I haven't fully made it yet, make sense?

Something I've noticed after looking it over more, is that my mother looks like a teenager? I mean, you can see that she's not because of the numerous tattoos and piercings. That'll be a funny question to answer, 'Who's that?" "My mother".  Another thing I've realized is, we're really weird. Like, At one point I thought it would be an amazing idea to film them doing a very 'white person' dance. I mean, It's funny, but I don't think anyone would really be expecting that. Yeah, fun.

I'm only making another paragraph this early because it's a different day. Right now, It's Thursday, December 5th. I did research for the past two days on how to download music for the video, but I didn't really find anything. As of this second, I'm going to wait until my teacher is finished speaking to students about their grades so I can ask her. Its been maybe 10 minutes and I did it, I found it out by myself. Okay, so the change of plans was I didn't ask the teacher. Instead, I looked it up. First, I looked on Google to see the options I had. I searched the song on youtube and tried to do it there first. That didn't work. Then, I had the wonderful Idea to look up "the thrash particle modern baseball mp3 download" or something on those lines. That worked!! The first option was a website called Bandcamp. The song was there, and it was free to download. I had done it. But now, the hard time. I had downloaded it, and now I had to import it. But the problem was I couldn't find the file when I went to the import page. But I pulled through and did it. Putting it into the actual video wasn't as hard as I thought. That's all I really had left to do besides cut a little more footage. Also, I forgot to mention in the thing in the other paragraph, The computer I'm on almost died Tuesday. I don't know why, It just went from like 45% to 7% but by then everything was saved and such. I mean, Right now the computer is low charge (21%) and I have no clue why, but here we are. I have to make a couple finishing touches before I have to go charge the computer. Cool.

Anyway, That's it I hope you have a terrific rest of your week.

Filming Blog

Hello! I hope you're having a nice day. If not, be like Evan Hansen and have a good day anyway.

As said by the absence of the quotation marks, I actually filmed this weekend! I'll explain how the whole week went. So first was Monday and Tuesday. Nothing really happened because they were the last two weeks before Thanksgiving break. I mean, I had a test Monday that was fun. Wednesday we didn't really do anything, either. My parents work, so me and my two brothers just sat around most of the day. I don't remember if I did anything productive, I probably didn't. Thursday was Thanksgiving, that was fun. I helped my mom cook dinner, and It was a good time. Also, that stupid creepy elf thing was yet again put into my home. Friday, we didn't do much either. My mother didn't have work, but my dad did so my brothers and I hung out with my mom all day. I had invited four of my close friends to come film, so I gave them all the information they needed. It was just a screenshot that contained the information, like the time and address. In the information paragraph, I had said it was being held at my house and it was going to be held from 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm. But, what's my blog without a tragedy, though? That's coming, patience. I had told my parents about everything that was happening. With that information, they still stayed up until 2:00 am with their friends anyway.

Still Friday night, one of my four friends said that he couldn't go unless he was dropped off at my house at 12:00 pm instead of 1:00 pm. That was fine, no big deal. He was the person I really wanted to hang out with because we haven't seen each other in person since June. That night, since it was 2:00 am I set an alarm for 11:00 am thinking I would sleep that long. No, My body was like "you get four hours take it or leave it." Yeah, I slept until 6:00 am Saturday, not Ideal. Now Saturday was the day where everyone was supposed to come. Now for the tragic part you've all been waiting for. I was up and anxious at 6:00 am on a Saturday, so naturally I rushed and did everything I needed to do. I got dressed, I made my bed, I cleaned my room a bit, stuff like that. At about 9:00 am, the friend who was supposed to come at 12:00 pm texts me and asks for my address. Cue me being anxious because I think he's going to be here at 10:00 am instead. Finally, 11:30 arrives. I'm excited, I get to see my good friend I'm excited. 30 minutes later, my friend texts me, he says "I'd like to apologize for my mother suddenly deciding I can't go because I told her I'm Bisexual." My heart drops, I'm sad. His mother being a rat, yet again.  But at least I have three other people coming, right? No. 1:00 pm rolled around. I sat outside. 20 minutes pass, I still have hope, 1 hour passes, I message all of the people I invited if they were still coming. Surprise surprise, I didn't get an answer from any of them until hours later. One said he was out of town (which he could've told me that before I got my hopes up) another said he had just gotten the message and the final person said she couldn't come.

Tragic, I know. As you could probably imagine, I was upset. (rich set a fire and burned down the house) I didn't have friends to come and help me film. But we overcame that obstacle. Sunday, We filmed. When I say we, I mean My brother, My mother, and Myself. I'm grateful for them, they stepped in to take the places that my friends would've been in. It was frustrating, but we got through it. In this video, there's going to be a lot going on, yes. But! I think it's going to be amusing or delightful in some manor. Unrelated, but just saying the Mean Girls musical is so good? Anyway, That's what happened. I hope that was dramatic enough for you.

  Have a good day, Goodbye.

"Filming" Blog

Hello, Greetings, Howdy, Hi. I hope you're having a good day.

So, You may or may not have noticed the quotation marks around the word filming in the title. Also, you may recall the "Editing" Blog. So yes, I'm talking about how something was supposed to happen, but didn't end up happening. This past weekend, Saturday The 23rd and Sunday the 24th, I was planning on filming then, but that didn't happen.

First of all, Why I didn't film. There were many reasons why I changed my mind about filming over the weekend. The first, My teacher announced to us that she wasn't going to be in class Friday. So if we were to film over the weekend, we had to come and pick up the camera Thursday. That sounds simple, right? Well, Yes. I forgot, and when I remembered it as already too late. Also, My father announced that he was going to be doing house work so having a camera there wouldn't be the best idea. House work as in, my house is a construction site. My father is tearing away walls because they are moldy and there's stuff wrong with them. Here's the second reason, my friends. As you may remember, I planned to have my friends in the video. I still do plan on that happening. A lot of my friends over the course of last week either said they couldn't come that day or they didn't answer. It's unfortunate, I know. Not that it matters, but the ones that did answer me had decent reasons. The friend I was very happy was coming, said he got grounded and he couldn't go. He didn't say why, but here we are.

Second, What I did instead. You can imagine, I had to do something because I wasn't filming. I may joke saying that I sit and stare at the wall all day everyday, but I don't do that all day. Maybe a good 15 minutes or so. Anyway, Back to what I did instead. Starting with a nice, interesting opening. So, my mother is tall. And most of the time, with great height, comes big feet. She has size 10 or 10 1/2 shoe. We went on a journey, A hunt to find my mother shoes. We first went to a shopping plaza thing to see if they had shoes for her in the stores. We first went into a store that I don't remember the name of. After we left that store with no luck, we went into a DSW (I think that's what it's called)store. There was no luck there either, but we looked in the clearance section with a sliver of hope left, and found some shiny blue boots that were Two Hundred Dollars. Clearance? I think not. Anyway, we left that plaza and we drove to some mall. That mall has at least 10 shoe stores. You want to guess how many pairs of shoes that my mother liked that were her size? None. No pairs at all. And upside though, She found exercise clothing, and that was one of two purchases. The other purchase was those baked pretzel things. Those were nice. Later that day, We went to my mothers friend house for dinner. Her friend was having a Thanksgiving themed dinner party thing so we went. Well, Not willingly. Long story short, I got to play with a small child, I got to pet a cat, and I got to talk to some people I've never talked to before on discord, what a good time. That was just Saturday. Sunday, However wasn't as eventful. My father took my brothers to home depot or something and my mother left for the morning. I was rudely awakened by pounding and sawing from the back of our house. You may or may not be thinking, "what rats," and you're right. So I woke up and did my daily staring at the wall for 15 minutes ritual. Then I went out, and sat on the couch. Something I forgot to mention that I did Saturday, I started to re-watch Victorious. So far, I'm only on the 5th or 6th episode, but so far I've learned that Tori is extremely dramatic, and no one asked for that sis. Anyway, Sunday. I didn't do much. I started with my morning rituals (staring at the wall, etc) and went from there. To make it brief, I played this game called Krunker and talked to people on discord. I don't really know how to describe the game besides saying, Imagine the games minecraft, roblox, and call of duty mixed into one ugly game. That's what Krunker is. I played that for almost 6 hours hile talking to some people on discord. Self control? We don't know her.

So in conclusion, That's what I did instead of filming this weekend. I hope you were entertained. I have to film this weekend and a lot of the people that said they couldn't come last weekend said they could this weekend so that's fun. I hope this works out.

Anyway, That's a wrap. Have a good day.

Storyboard Blog

Hello. I hope you're having a good day.

So, you may or may not be able to tell from the title, it's storyboard time. For this project, we had to draw 12 boxes as a way of saying what we were doing. So here are the two things:

I apologize if the photo looks funky, I had to crop it so it didn't have my name in the thing.
So first, I'm going to explain exactly what's going on. Okay, so the song I chose is a sad song. So you'd think, sad song=sad times. Well, You're right. I listened to this song after I chose it for this assignment and thought to myself, "what is a sad thing that I can show on camera?" because I can't really show what anxiety feels like on camera. So, a sad time in my life is continuing doing school without my really really good friends with me. So this storyboard is basically showing what we did as a group in middle school when stuff was still looking up for all of us. I'm aware it says stuff about me not being sure about who's coming (the "whoever shows up") because as of right now, I don't know. Hopefully I get an answer by Friday. Anyway, back to the topic of sad things. The relevance of the uno cards, there were maybe 13 people total in our group. Whenever we'd sit together in the morning before school or at lunch we'd play uno. It was our favorite game to play besides hangman. Off topic, I know. To make matters short, this video is a small "montage" of what us buddies did on a day to day basis. It's weird and it makes no sense but here we are.

**I'm also aware that there's probably things missing, and that the drawn pictures look like utter garbage. I wanted to spend more time figuring everything out then drawing the pictures. Also, there's probably things that are going to be changed for various reasons.** Okay, cool. So the first box is a drawing of me sitting on my bed. It's supposed to be sort of a I wake up or something, and I have the flashbacks of hanging out with my friends. The next scene would be my friend(s) standing in the doorway. After that, there's the uno montage. As of right now, I don''t know how that's going to work out, but here we are. There's 3 boxes having to do with playing uno, it's going to be very dramatic. Then there's us going outside(a rare moment) But us going outside might change depending on the weather, us deciding against going, and stuff like that. Then we're seen going inside to play coolmath, then there's the very unnecessary couple second scene of us standing over the camera. Then finally, the scene where I lay back down to show that this horrid video is over.

In all, There's pan(s), long shot(s), an establishing shot, full shot(s), two shot(s), jump cut(s), tilt(s), close up(s), zoom(s), point of view(s), medium shot(s), medium full shot(s), and over the shoulder(s). What a good time. Anyway, I have kind of high hopes for this video because not only am I doing classwork, I get to hang out with really cool people that I haven't seen in a while. But everything has to have a bad thing you know is gonna happen, right? Well, the friends that I've asked to be in this video aren't the most mature people. Even though this video is going to be based around good times, that doesn't mean we have to be smiling and laughing at each other. Because who would willingly watch a couple teenagers giggling into a camera for a minute and fifteen seconds? No one, that's who. Yeah. Another problem, since we're doing certain things in the video, like playing uno, going to the park, and playing a computer game, there's times where we're probably going to get caught in that and spend way more time than intended doing one thing. I'm sorry if this whole thing looks messy and disorganized, I know it's a lot to comprehend. Then again, I can't say "oh don't worry, I promise this will be the best thing you've ever seen." because It's not going to be. I can't make a promise I can't keep. Thank you for your time.

I hope you have a good day, until next time.

Planning Blog

Hello, I hope you're having a good day.

Glad to start this treacherous process again. Okay, fun. To start off, We're doing the location. So, the location is going to be at my house, park near my house, and the weird sidewalk that leads to the park. I chose these because it's simple, while still being a little unique, for lack of a better term. This video is going to be based around flashbacks so it's a good thing to walk places and be weird. If there is an unexpected incidence, such as rain, the sun expanding, a hurricane, you know the usual, we're just going to film inside. I don't want to risk damaging equipment by being risky. I also have to remember to call the rulers of the park to make sure it's okay for us to film there. But I don't know if they have a phone number, I'll find it all out. Health and safety. Health and safety is obviously a big thing. You know, we need to be alive and well in order to finish the filming and editing processes. For this, we will make sure to have common sense and be more alert. Considering we're walking places instead of driving, we're gonna do the small children thing of excessively looking up and down the road, waiting for a couple seconds after the stop light turns red so no one hits us while using the cross walk, etc.

Now, Props. There's no plans to include props. Like, there's no things we want/need to add. We're not renting guitars or anything over the top like that. The only props we'd use would be stuff around my house. Like my dogs (I don't know if they would be considered props), maybe a rainbow thing of some sort, and stuff like that. Costumes. There's no plan for costumes either. we're not gonna be dressed up as vampires or big chickens. Although, I might buy one of those weird onesie things from Walmart, but I don't know yet. But that would be funny, two or more teenagers walking around your neighborhood with a camera wearing animal onesies. That's fun. Other than that, the apparel that's going to be worn is probably just going to be the usual stuff, jeans, a t-shirt, a jacket, and maybe something else.

And now, The schedule. Today, November 18th 2019, we're assigned to start the Planning and Storyboard blogs/processes. We were told to divide the work among our group members, but obviously, I can't do that because I'm working alone. Tomorrow, Nov. 19th, Is a white day. Wednesday, Nov. 20th, we're continuing and finishing up the two blogs. Thursday, Nov. 21, Is when the Planning and Storyboard blogs are due. Friday, Nov. 22nd, Is a white day and the day I have to take some test. Over the weekend, Saturday Nov. 23rd, and Sunday Nov. 24th, I plan to film with whichever friend decides to text me back. Monday, Nov. 25th, a filming blog is due. Another filming blog is also due Monday, Dec. 2nd. Monday, Dec. 9th, The actual whole edited and filmed music video is due. Then the CCR is due to the class gmail at Wednesday, Dec. 11th. A good time, a fun time.

Well, that's it for now. I hope you have a good day.

Introduction/Research For the music video

Hello, Welcome. I hope you're having a good day.

Today, November 14th, marks the first day of the new project. We're going from the commercial to a music video. A quick summary of the commercial, It was pretty good. I filmed, edited and wrote about every thing myself, which was a nice challenge. You know, we got through it. I really hope this process will go better than the process of the commercial. I'm going into this project with two ideas and zero motivation.

The song I'm using for this project, is The Thrash Particle by Modern Baseball. Honestly, just choosing the song was a big challenge. I had maybe two songs in my head, then every couple minutes I'd say to myself, but that song would work too.. Pure chaos, I know. I picked this song because one, it's my favorite Modern Baseball songs, and two, because I felt it would be easier to film then the other song options I had. I'm quote, "good at looking sad" so that's a plus. Modern Baseball's genre includes many things, such as Emo, Indie rock, Pop punk, and Folk rock. A lot of their songs talk about falling in and out of love, friends, and mental health. Now to name the genre conventions. 1. Costumes in these genres include almost any clothing you could wear, as obvious as it sounds. In Modern Baseball music videos, the people wear just normal clothing, or that one where he is dressed up as a vampire. Other bands in those genres do this too, Such as Mom jeans (iconic), Sorority Noise, and The Front Bottoms. 2. Lighting in these genres usually are darker than other videos. Honestly, I can only guess why, Probably so that their songs seem more sad or dramatic than it actually is. 3. Acting, In this genre, the acting usually consists of awkward dancing, lip syncing(?), being weird with friends, or a live performance of the song. 4.Makeup. Makeup depends on the costume, yes, but there are other reasons why you would use makeup. Such as, covering up things on the face (zits, scars, etc), To make yourself look younger, or if you're like Brendan Lukens, dress up as a vampire and wear black lipstick for it. 5. Props. Props in this genre, could include things like alcohol, Musical instruments, (guitars, drums, microphones, etc), Party games, etc. 6.Setting. Setting can go with acting as well. in this genre, the setting is usually based inside a house, at a venue, or in a place like a backyard or a park.

There are many camera angles, shots, and movements used in music videos of this genre. First, The most common camera angles are close ups, and extreme close ups. These are used to show the person whose singing's lips moving. The most common shots in music videos of this genre are, long shots, and mid shots. A long shot to show whoever wherever they are, whether the place is relevant or not to the song. A mid shot, to show the person and the back round, but could also be used to show the person lip syncing. Common Movements are Dolly's, And Pans. Dollys are in this genre to smoothly/gradually go from showing someone's face to their body and the thongs around them. Pans are used to do almost the same, but usually they use pans to show going back or forward in time, or something else happening in another room. Think of it, in many music videos for example, they show the band, then they use the pan movement to show another room, maybe of a group of people dancing/a party or a scene where someone just woke up. Common sounds in this genre would include, (obviously) the song, you know, the guitars, drums, the vocalist.

In this music video, I honestly have almost no idea of what to do. I have one, but if I can't have people come and act in the video, then this is going to be interesting, but not in a good way. It's either, a friend of mine comes over and we film, I film by myself, or i walk around with a camera and the video mean nothing to the song.

That was a long one, sorry not sorry, I guess. Have a good day.

Editing blog

Hello welcome, I hope you're having a good day.

So today we actually started editing our commercials. So far it hasn't been as difficult as I thought it was going to be, then again all I've done at the current time of 10:19 is import the footage, and get it into the correct places. What I didn't realize earlier, was that I shot way more footage than I thought I did. There was footage of me reaching around the camera when i was still trying to figure the camera out, there was also 2-3 to takes for two of the scenes so that was fun to look through. An upside is that my hair looked really nice so that's good. A downside, (I guess?) was that I looked extremely awkward in every second of this commercial. I looked more awkward than I do in my day to day life. There were also so many unnecessary head and hand movements, heck. That stuff happens all the time but watching it back and seeing it from another point of view is so, ew. Ew is the only way I can think of describing it.

Obviously, time has passed since I said it was 10:19. I'm sitting in pe and I'm gonna reflect on what I did the rest of that class. I'm almost done with all of the editing. I imported the footage, and placed it in the right places, and, you know, edited it. Although it went pretty smoothly, a crisis always occurres. Dun dun dun. After I cut the footage to the best of my ability, it was 24.28 seconds long. That means it doesn't meet the 25 second minimum. I was, shook, for lack of a better term. This was a tragedy indeed. What was I supposed to do? Turn in the 24.28 second commercial? Unacceptable. Because I am a magician, I can't tell you what I did, but I can tell you that, using magic, I made that 24.28 into a 25.03 I believe.

So, in conclusion, I'm almost done with the editing. I have to find and add music or something to put at the end. I also have to put titles. Why? Because you can't hear what I'm saying. Wind and the fact that I can't talk at a normal volume were both contributing factors to this second crisis. I want to put the titiles for the very low volume words, and an anti vaping small message thing at the end. So I have to come up with a comedic comment having to do with anti-vaping. Fun.

Well, that's it. Goodbye.

"Editing" Blog

Hello welcome, I hope you're having a good day.

So today, October 28th, 2019 we were supposed to edit or start editing the footage we shot Thursday. Well there's been a catastrophe, the computers aren't working right so we can't edit. We were told to make this blog about this catastrophic turn of events. We were sitting at the tables waiting for the school announcements to be over when the teacher told us. Honestly, this setback isn't good because I was comforting myself all morning saying "don't worry man, you can do this. I believe in you". Then I was hit with the surprise that there's no actual editing happening today. All those good things I told myself about it all being okay? Wasted. She told us to get the footage situated on Google accounts or on the USB drive things. I also didn't take part in that because my footage is on the teachers computer instead of one of the computers that aren't working.

Also, my day started off not well again. Spotify is unintelligent and changed the songs in my favorite playlist. Heck Spotify. Anyway, as I sit here typing this, the teacher is currently humming the tune of sugar from Maroon 5. Iconic indeed. You know what, right now I guess it's good that the computers weren't working right because 1. A lot of the class is outside finishing filming and 2. I probably wouldn't be mentally able to write a 3 paragraph 10 sentences each blog while editing right now. Writing a blog this long about how the computers aren't working is pretty difficult. Well, I guess just by looking at most of the computers you can tell that there's a lot wrong with them. There's computers in this room that you can tell just by looking at them that they've probably been here for around maybe 5 years or so. I mean, that doesn't really matter but that gives a little context on, you know, why they don't work right

So far this media class is pretty cool. I feel like I've been doing kind of well for joining the class late and not knowing anything about what's going on in the class. It was either this class or AICE business and I just picked the one that had 6th period to avoid changing anything else. I'm happy with this and how it's going, that's fun. This is definitely a class that I would take again. Off topic okay. I'm also happy that I don't have to write these blogs on the computers. Scrambling for a place at the computers and scrambling to get the blog done is probably a hassel. But you know, I wouldn't know. I hope were able to start editing as soon as possible. Getting everything done in a timely manner would be nice. Anyway, I'm going to skedaddle to where? You'll never know. Have a good day.

Filming blog

Hello I hope you're having a good day.
Buckle up, this is going to be a long one.

Thursday we filmed our commercials. It was hectic. You may or may not be thinking why, well I'm going to tell you. So starting off, the day in general didn't start off that good. I came to class anxious on the verge of a break down and that feeling lasted the rest of the day. We got into the class and rushed to get the papers signed and the equipment in our grasp. The first two cameras both said that they had 20 minutes left on them, so I had to get a different camera. The next one I got was fine. I got the camera and the tripod and went downstairs. Originally, I was going to film in front of the cafeteria but decided against it and filmed under the stairs. Getting the equipment situated took me way longer than it should've and that took away from the filming time.

I'll spare you the grueling details of the setting up process. Filming in general was difficult because I was filming and acting(if that's what you'd even call it) by myself. A lot of the clips filmed start and end with me reaching around the camera to turn the recording on and off. That's fun. I also did good things while filming. There was a group filming not too far from where I was and I helped them put their camera on the tripod. I also have directions to a girl trying to find a class, a good time. I forgot to mention, after I set up the camera on the tripod and got everything adjusted I realized that the tripod didn't have the pan handle stick, so that made things even better.  In all honesty, I was so focused on getting the filming done that I probably didn't get a lot of the shots right. Fun.

Then the rest of the process was a complete disaster. I got back and got the SD card reader and went to a computer. Dun dun dun. The computer wouldn't let me log into my student account. I tried multiple times and I couldn't log in. Then the teacher came over, she tried and it stayed on the loading screen for a few minutes and it didn't work. Then the bell rang and almost everyone left the classroom. The teacher pointed at another computer and I went there. It didn't turn on. She then told me I could get my clips dumped onto her computer and I could transfer them to another computer Monday. So that's what happened, and that's what's going on.

Goodbye,

Storyboard Blog

Hello welcome, I hope you're having a good day. This blog is about the storyboard I've made for my commercial project.
Here is the picture of the story board
Before saying anything else, I am very aware that there are things on here that are not accurate with the drawings and things are probably not correct. For that I'm sorry.
Let's move forward, okay.
In all I used medium shots, pans, medium wide shots, close ups , jump cuts, pov's, and medium close ups. I probably will add more to it or change it, it depends. With editing, I'm probably going to make it as simple as possible with myself as well as making a decent looking commercial. I'm not sure what editing I will use, sorry.

Editing Blog Lesson

What did you learn today?

Today we learned about the signing out, setting up, and editing processes. When we sign out the camera we have to fill out the sheet, bring the sheet to the teacher, then we get the camera, camera bag, ect. The camera is "small but mighty" and takes a while to charge but lasts a long time. To turn the camera on and off you just open/close the flap. For the tripod, we were told to detach the camera and collapse the tripod whenever we go somewhere, like downstairs or across decently far distances.

For editing, we learned the dumping, importing, and exporting procedures. To dump, you have to create a folder that's where you're going to put the footage. Then you put the SD card in the SD card reader and plug that into the computer. The footage should be in the DCIM, if not you have to look in the AVCHD. The AVCHD should display all the footage on the SD card. Put the footage in the folder you made previously. After you've gathered your footage, you have to import your footage into pinnacle studios.  Track 1 is where the titles go, track 2 is where the footage goes, and track 3 is where your audio goes. If you want to watch your raw footage or your edited edited footage, either drag the red bar with your mouse, or just hit the play button. If you want to get rid of something you highlight the footage you want to delete then go to the button that looks like a blade, then click it and it should cut.

If you want to do a voice over, you record whatever you want to say, detach the audio, and delete the video. If you want to add titles to your video, click the t, then you type whatever you want the title to be, then hit okay. When you see a green bar that means that something was added. When it's time to save your work you save it like any normal document. You click file and save as, then save it to your folder. If you're completely done with the project, you export it then put it on the MP4 thing or EMPEG then you click the full size thing. If you want to add music or sound effects, you have to go to YouTube and convert it to an MP3 then add it to your video. That's what we learned today.  The is the end, I hope you have a good day.

Planning blog for the anti-vaping commercial

Hello, I hope you're having a good day. So for this commercial project, I'm going to be filming an anti-vaping commercial. As said in the previous blog thing I did. I chose to do an anti-vaping commercial because vaping has become a big thing the past couple months and that's not good. People on websites like tiktok and Instagram made memes and edits saying that vaping made you cool or you would become popular on these websites if yoh vape. Also because I thought coming up with ideas would be a little easier if I did an anti-vaping commercial. Honestly, my goals for this project is to 1. Get it done and get it done correctly and 2. Make it as appealing as possible. I plan to use comedy as an approach, but that approach might change depending on how Editing goes.

Props
- A stick or something to represent a vape pen(?)
- Or anything that looks like a vape, but obviously isn't. Because someone sitting there vaping to show that vaping is bad isn't okay, unless they're doing it to show the bad stuff that could happen to you.

Costumes
- The clothing worn for this won't matter as much as everything else, because I'm the only person in this group.

Schedule
- Story board blog due 10/14
- Filming blog due 10/21
- Editing blog due 10/23

Location list
- Anywhere that no one else is, because people watching me film or people being around me when I film makes me uncomfortable. Also because they don't need to be in the background.

Back up plan
- If it rains I'll either stay in the classroom, Or go under the stairs near the vending machines. If going there is okay, of course.

Convention Blog

Hello, Good morning I hope you're having a good day. I'm doing an ad on anti-vaping, fun topic I know. So, usually in anti vaping ads they have a person or group of people having a good time sitting there vaping and then boom, they put up a statistic or a study saying you will get this illness if you vape, you will switch to smoking cigarettes if you vape, etc. Even though you might not get that illness or you might not start smoking actual cigarettes, there is always a chance and that is probably not a chance you want to take. People who produce these commercials want to scare you by saying all the horrible things that can happen to you (not that the effects of vaping are good). Remember the anti smoking ads? They had people suddenly get gum cancer or someone writing a contract and that contract rolling into a cigarette, ew horrid. Then there was the people that had deformities because of having cancer and the message saying "they died a week later”. Although a lot of cancers can develop from smoking there are a lot that happen naturally too, so you are at a risk either way.

What has vaping done so far?
So far, maybe a dozen or so teenagers have been hospitalized for vaping. It is a problem in schools as well. Teachers feel the need to tell their students not to vape in class, and that is reasonable. My pe coach said that if he catches anyone vaping in his class he will break the vape, how nice. Also, when I had culinary arts, there was a girl that asked me if I Vaped or smoked, I said no and she looked at me like all of a sudden I was boring because I am 14 and I don't have a nicotine addiction. People on social media influence stuff like that and that is not okay.

That's the end, have a good day.

Introductory

Hi, Hello, Howdy, or whatever greeting you prefer. Buckle up because this is going to be a long one. My name is Taylor, I'm 14, I go by They/Them pronouns, and that's all of the get to know me stuff. Sike, okay, The first thing about me, I really like music. I enjoy listening to a lot of heavier bands like Suicide Silence, Rings Of Saturn, Pierce The Veil, Escape The Fate, Sleeping With Sirens, Asking Alexandria, Falling In Reverse, Get Scared, Of Mice & Men, Famous Last Words, etc. I also like softer bands like Mom Jeans, Modern Baseball, Sorority Noise, My Chemical Romance, The Front Bottoms, Cavetown, and stuff like that. Musicals are cool too, I like The Heathers musical, Dear Evan Hansen, Beetle Juice, The Mean Girls Musical, And Be More Chill. The second thing about me is like being alone, as emo as it sounds. I enjoy being with my friends. In middle school, there were maybe 12 of us and we'd all hang out at lunch, it was fun because we were just the little gay group. We'd talk about school drama, grades, teachers, etc, and we'd all get a nice laugh out of it. We also had a lot of inside jokes, such as "e", "don't be a pp", "always remember, gootnick" and other stupid stuff like that.

Things I don't like? Here we go, I don't really like math even though I'm kinda good at it. I don't like science at all, I just find it really difficult. I don't like pe because I don't like being outside, especially in Florida. I don't like rap music but I know older rap stuff because of my mother. I don't like short pants, mainly because I don't like the way my legs are. I don't really like painting and drawing, I ruined that artsy stuff for myself. I don't like writing essays, it takes so much time just to say "here's what I think and why what I think is right." it's horrid. A big thing I don't like is Homophobic and Transphobic people. People like that invest so much of their time just to say that people are wrong for being who they are and that's not okay at all.

I take fairly normal classes. I take french. My french class is fun because the teacher doesn't expect us to know everything we were taught at the snap of a finger. Then I have study hall like everyone else has/should have. Then I have Geometry. I mean, it's math so it's not that great, and that's it. The teacher I have is.. something, and that's all I'll say about that. After geometry, I go to my Biology class, The teacher I have is really understanding of the fact that I don't like working with other people so that's always fun. Then I have AICE general paper, which is cool I guess? Then I have the AICE media studies, that class is pretty cool. Then I have PE, ew. After that, I go to my history class. I enjoy my history class the most because the concepts aren't that hard and the teacher is really good at what she does. Now, a special thing, Fun facts about Taylor. 1. I was born two months early, I have a lot of scars on my feet, hands, and around the veins on my wrists because of the shots I had to get. I also have a big scar on the bendy part of my arm because of one of those UV/IV needle things 2. I have a twin brother. 3. I can probably go a full day without talking. Those are all of my fun facts, sorry if it was underwhelming. Well, That's it. Have a good day.
