Re-Filming Blog

Hello, I hope you have happy holidays and a nice new year.

We filmed a little today and yesterday. Because the film is taking place in a 2 or 3 day period, we might have to film again. It was very overcast yesterday and that was where most of the filming took place. We filmed just the parts that we already have. I decided that we not use any of the previous footage for the final project. I just didn't think they were good enough. Most of it was having to do with the background noise and awkward camera movement. I think I can do better than that so that's what I'm trying to do. I don't think the footage that we have now is bad, I think it needs to be redone just because I need to make it look like it was all done consistently If that makes sense. Anyways. We decided to film for about a half an hour or so. I waited until after my grandparents left to go back to Pennsylvania. Out of all that we got 3 minutes of footage. Cut down will make it maybe 1-2 minutes or so. We filmed the stuff we didn't get to yesterday. That gives context to the consistent statement I made earlier. We're going to film more over the weekend and next week, but I'm not 100% sure about how that's going to turn out. Not very hyped to get back to the school groove, but I get to do online school at home. I'm excited to get everything done, I don't know how it'll turn out but I'll be happy to know it's done and over with. I forgot to take a picture during filming again, so here's a picture of the camera.

Re-Importing editing blog

Hello, I hope you've had a nice day.

I hope you had a nice time during your holidays. In the last blog, all I had really done was imported the clips into the program. After I was done with that, I saved it and put it into my media folder. I opened it earlier today and I don't know if it crashed or what but I had to import everything again. I mean, I wasn't that upset considering I didn't really do anything. I had just put the clips together and left them there. Again, I didn't do much. I cut some stuff a little bit, that's all I did. I talked to my brother about the clips not being good and he's okay with redoing it. That's a good thing. My grandparents are leaving on Wednesday I'm pretty sure so we can finish filming later in the week. They've been pretty lenient with me being on devices for work. I have a valid reason, it just that sometimes that's not good enough. My mom has busted in my room and got mad at me for not spending time with my family while I'm doing stuff for this. I tell her what I'm doing and why I'm doing it she just doesn't really apply that information every time. Yeah, so. This week, I plan to film and edit and get most of the stuff done. Titles will be pretty wack this time because it's going to mostly have my name on it. I'm not complaining, it's just a realization.

Editing blog

Hi, I hope you're having a good day.

I decided to actually sort through the new footage and import it into the program today. When I import stuff, I just import every clip that I have and watch each one, and enter it as I go. After that, I trim and add whatever I need to add. So far, I have about 7-8 good clips out of 21. That's not very good. Most of them can fit into a bloopers thing maybe, but still. A lot of them are just not good. They probably could be better with trimming, but I'm not 100% sure. I don't know if I want to make any changes yet because I usually wait until it's all done until I do that. A lot of the clips have audio issues as well. There's stuff that I'd rather not cover up with music, but I dont really have a choice. White noise, like the ac, my dog breathing, my brother walking, etc. I feel like those should be included but I don't really know how to include those and not the stuff that I don't want in it. I'll figure it out, oh well. Yeah, that was all I did having to do with this project today. I fell asleep at about 5:30am, who knew old people breathe so loud when they sleep. I was woken up at 11am to go to a work outing thing at my dad's work. I didn't hear one funny joke that entire function. I went there hungry and got so uncomfortable that I lost my appetite. I'm probably not going to do anything having to do with media tomorrow because I'm going to be spending time with my family. I'm not 100% sure that I'll blog, but we'll see.

Editing blog but its the bare minimum

Hello, I hope you've had a nice day.

I didn't end up filming, sadly. The only thing having to do with media and that project that I did today was importing it and putting it in a folder. My grandparents came at about 2pm and I woke up at 11am. My family is very family and family time-oriented, which is reasonable. I wasn't able to really sneak away and do things. So before they got here, I quickly put all the clips I have onto my computer. I hope that I'll be able to do a little bit tomorrow, but that might not happen. My grandmother has stuff planned. She says we have to go to the store to finish getting Christmas gifts for my parents. We also have to go to my father's work because they're having a barbeque thing I guess. I don't particularly enjoy hanging out with middle-aged men who think being discriminatory is funny. I'm going to wear a mask and stay as far away from them as possible, though. It'd be cool if they let me stay home during that to finish my filming, but that won't happen. Anyways, we spent today sitting together. We went to some restaurant, I'll put the picture I took there here. After that, we went to the store and bought the stuff we needed in order to make what we're making for Christmas dinner. That was a fast trip. I'm going to try to at least import the clips into the editing program tomorrow, so then I can say that I did something and so I can feel a little productive. I'm trying my best, I guess that's all that matters?

Inside daytime Filming Blog

Hello, I hope you've had a good day.

We filmed today and it was successful.  We started at about 1pm, it all went smoothly besides my brother complaining. We planned on filming all the daytime parts again today, but that didn't exactly work out as planned. We were filming, it took about 2 hours. From the storyboard, it shows that the view shows outside and the window from the outside. I have 2 dogs and I decided to not keep them in the room with my other family members. When I walked out of the house, I heard my dog bark and then a voice from the other side of the yard says "you know your dog is out, right?". Someone who works for my dad opened the fence and didn't tell anyone so I let the dog out into the street. He's a big dog, he's fast as well, so he's hard to catch. After about 15-20 minutes we got the dog inside and then continued for about 20 more minutes until we were done with that one part. Before we got the chance to film the 2nd outside scene, my mom decided that she wanted to take us to a nature park so that's what we did. The park she was talking about ended up being a covid testing place, she didn't want to accidentally end up in a testing line so we found another place. This gives context to the picture of the ducks I posted on my social medias. We had gotten home about an hour later. I looked at my storyboard, and realized there were 2 or 3 shots that I had forgotten to get, so I convinced my brother to do the rest of that today. My grandparents come tomorrow, so it's not guaranteed that I'll film tomorrow but I'll try my best. If I don't film, I'll start the editing process. But, again, I don't know. Anyways, camera, featuring my dog.

Filming Blog

Hello, I hope you've had a good day.

Wowie do I have a story for you. You may or may not remember, but last year we had an issue with our sd card and we couldn't access our footage. It was a trainwreck and very stressful. To be fair, it did work out in the end. Well, that's what happened today. We filmed the first day time scene today, it took about an hour or two. I liked it, it turned out just like i wanted it to. I went to import it onto my computer but it didn't work. I bought a new sd card over the summer so I could start off fresh, so whatever happened, only happened to the clips we had. Somehow, I don't know how, the card was wiped or malfunctioned. It was unfortunate, but what happens happens. I'm not extremely upset, we still have the rest of the week to finish it. Something I also noticed about 20 minutes ago was that I forgot to post on my social medias. Honestly, I don't think that's a very big deal considering the turnout of today's filming. My brother agreed to film again tomorrow, which is good. My main concern is him. I know how I'm feeling and if I'm okay with what I'm doing, but I'm never sure about him. It is what it is. I want to finish everything tomorrow but honestly it doesn't sound 100% realistic. But if that doesn't happen, I want to at least finish as much as possible before my grandparents arrive on Wednesday. I also realize that I forgot to take a picture while filming, heres a picture I took of the camera just now.

Explanation for not filming Blog

Hello, I hope you're having a good day.

Again, unfortunately, I didn't film. Last weekend my brother didn't want to film because he had basketball early the next day. I didn't bother asking this weekend because he had a tournament and I didn't want to stress him out. This week is the first week of our winter break. That's very swag, I'm very excited. I plan to film Monday, Tuesday, and maybe Wednesday. I have my grandparents coming Wednesday, that explains the maybe. I was thinking about posting on my social medias. Like, if I film, how am I going to show what I did on sites like youtube? I figured that each time I film I can record a clip of my brother being weird or something, I don't know. My mom suggested that when I'm done with filming all together, I can edit all the bloopers together, and I might do that because bloopers are funny. I'm also going to focus on the animated titles things. I was busy all week last week with midterms and I didn't get to do it then. I might this week, who knows. I'm going to try my best to get it all done as soon as possible, but it depends. I'm not exactly a motivated person and I need to wait until all the people involved are prepared enough to play their parts. At end of the day, it'll all get done and it'll be okay, that's the hope at least. The overall goal is to get the filming done by before Christmas, which is 100% doable. I talked to my mom about this, I had brought up the point that filming might not take as much time as it did because I'm doing all the technical stuff by myself. I can just go with it without anyone telling me what to change aesthetically and such. Like I can do it right the first time because my opinion is the only one that matters in the time being, y'know?

Website blog

Good evening, I hope you've had a nice day.

I haven't done much regarding media class in 2 weeks or so. I've been busy with other classes and I haven't gotten the chance to film yet. I decided to sidetrack, and do stuff like figure out how to make animated titles and fix up my website. That's what I did. One of the vector pieces near the top of the homepage was messed up. Somewhere in the making of the website, I deleted the text box that goes with it and I couldn't figure out how to put it back. At the time, I just made a simple text box to put in its place, but that didn't work. When you scroll down the website, the vector pieces fade in and fade out, but the plain text box just stayed there. So when you were looking at just the top of the website, jus the textbox was there. It looked ugly, so I tried to change it. I did end up figuring out how to change it, though. All I had to do was duplicate the text box for the other vector piece to do it. It felt nice to figure it out, the way it was frustrated me. That was that, I edited the page to my liking. After that, I decided that I was going to try to figure out how to make animated titles. The editing program I'm using I guess partners with an app called blender. I haven't figured everything in there out yet, but I will. I do plan on filming this weekend. Saturday night to be exact. It'll be alright, I've planned everything out. My brother has basketball on Sunday, but I need to film right before sunset so that it gets dark quicker. I hope the filming doesn't take long, but who knows honestly.

What happened over break blog

Hello, I hope you've had a nice day.

The break wasn't very eventful when it comes to what I did for this class. I did the website, social media, and I found music. That's about all, though. I hoped that I was going to film last weekend or this past weekend. I didn't. I think I had said this in one of the previous blogs, but I have to wait until me, my brother, and my mother are all home and motivated to film. The weekend before the break my brother had basketball games all day both Saturday and Sunday and my mother went with him. Because my brother plays the main character, I couldn't film without him. I can't film anything without him because I play no on-screen part in my film. I've said this before, hopefully, I get the chance to film this weekend. I feel bad for putting it off. Not every time was my fault that it didn't happen, but still. I said on my website it was premiering December 20th or some ridiculous day like that. I might be able to change it, but I'm probably not going to. It'll be cool to see if I can get my unmotivated self to get up and do something before the deadline. For what I did instead of filming, that's pretty easy to tell. I didn't really do anything. I talked to family over the phone and I spent Thanksgiving with my immediate family. I've been extremely tired for like 2 weeks straight its very unfortunate but oh well. Oh, another thing I did over break was going to the doctor after almost 3 years of not going. I was told that I have mild scoliosis and for some reason, I thought that that was hilarious.

Music Blog

Hello, I hope you're having a nice day.

Here's my music journey, I guess. So Friday I think it was, I scoured the internet in search of a song to go into my film. It took way longer than I had anticipated. Many factors made it take longer, like me getting sidetracked, me not being able to find one that fits, etc. I've decided that I wanted a kind of eerie or fast-paced audio to go with it, I thought it would be fitting. But then again, I won't know if it's fitting until I actually film the film. Like you know when you play among us and you're the imposter? That sound effect is what I thought of when I was looking for songs. I searched for keywords, like action movie music, thriller movie music, etc. I try my best to look for music that isn't copyrighted and such. As not okay as this sounds, I would rather not email some famous person and have to wait months for a response. I get that in that case you could just find another song, but still. Anyways. I found one on youtube, it was from someone named ESN Productions, the song is 9 minutes long and I saw it as fitting. I'll take a screenshot of the comment they made and I'll put it as the media for this blog post. I haven't done it yet, but even though they said that I wouldn't need permission, I'll probably ask anyway, even if it's not needed for the class or something. So far this is the only thing I've gone with. I might use the one from last year's project, but I don't know. There's a chance that I'll go with another song when the filming and such is over with. Right now I'm just picturing the storyboard with the song over it. It's 9 minutes, which is pretty short considering a lot of the videos under the search "eerie ambiance" are a horrid amount of time, like 10 hours. How can people sit through that? I have no idea.

Marketing Blog

Hi there, I hope you're having a wonderful day.

This is going to be about my journey with making the websites and the social media accounts, woohoo. Anyways. I had made all the accounts under the same name, except for Facebook. I came up with a fake name because I didn't feel comfortable using my real one. Honestly, Facebook was the only account that I dreaded making. One of the conditions of me making the account was that my mom would be friends with me. That's weird, especially because I'd rather not have to look at passive-aggressive political stuff while trying to post stuff for school. I get that that kind of stuff can be important but still. That's beside the point, though. I made the rest of the accounts and it went well, then came the making of the website. That entire process was a disaster, let me tell you. I found my format off of an examples page, it was originally for another film, whatever. I changed stuff in it to make it more about my film and such. The first time I did it, I had gone onto another tab and went to upload a picture, sometimes when I open the folders from google (like to submit a file or something) my google will crash and close itself. You can imagine how I felt, at that time at least an hour and a half had been wasted. Then I started again, and now I have what I have now. It's not pretty, I haven't checked my grades in a bit but I'm certain that it was one of the 0's. I had finished it before the announcement of the extension was posted, and then the next two days I was swamped with work, it was very unfortunate but oh well. It's a work in progress 100% but I'll finish it or get to the point I need to be within the next few days probably. I ran into a bunch of other issues with the website, too. For example, I couldn't navigate it for the life of me, all the buttons overwhelmed me because I was too far into the making of it that I was scared that a single button push would ruin the entire thing for me. So I wasn't very adventurous, but it's all good.

Storyboard

Good evening, I hope you're having a wonderful day.

I apologize in advance for my horrid work, I can't draw very well. But overall, you might be able to get the idea. I planned on filming this weekend, but I didn't. I ended up getting swamped with work and that's what I did. I also had some family spend the weekend with us, which was cool. If I'm going to be completely honest, this is one of the hardest assignments I've done. I had zero motivation to do it and it took forever. But I did finish it, so that's cool. I'll tell you about my storyboard process. Here's how it went: at about 9:30 pm on Saturday, It was a full day of spending time with family that I didn't get to bail out of. Since it was a weekend, I got to stay up late and do whatever I needed to do. With time and no motivation, I stayed up until about 3:00 am doing it, I said I wasn't going to sleep until it was finished. I did about half of it while listening to an aggressive piano playlist. I did that and then finished the rest over the course of Sunday. It's currently 8:55 pm, It's cool I got it done when I did because I have other school things to do. That's less cool, but still. It's a stretch, But I might actually film next weekend, or just over Thanksgiving break. I just have to find a time that, my brother, my mother and I are all motivated and in a good mood to work together. I'd say the filming will take at least 2 days, and that's because I have day, night, and morning scenes that I need to shoot. It's all going to be alright.

Planning blog

Hello, I hope you're having a good day.

This is my planning blog, I'm going to be discussing the schedule, location, participants, health and safety, props, and costumes.

I'm going to have a similar structure as the final project for last year, but not really. I won't be having many participants, I'm going to have my mother play the woman in the grey shirt and I'm going to make my twin brother play the main and the unknown person. I realized that I never gave a name to the main character, I just called them main. The characters name is going to be Lenny and he goes by he/him.  We are going to be filming at my house, I'll provide a picture of it in the end. There won't be many props, but we'll make arrangements. I know for a fact a computer, grocery bags, bedding, mail, and a marker will be there for sure. For costumes, they're not going to be over the top or anything. They're just going to be plain clothes. For Lenny, he'll just wear something simple, casual wear if you will. Unknown will just be wearing dark clothes, and the woman in the grey shirt will be wearing a grey shirt. For scheduling, that's complicated as of right now. I plan to at least try to film this weekend, but I don't know if it'll happen or not. However, it's probably not going to be as chaotic as when I worked with someone I didn't live with. We just have to find a time where we're both motivated and it'll go smoothly. For health and safety, there's not really that much we can do. I'm going to clean up so there's a guarantee that no one trips. Also in the scene where the camera is showing Lennys face on the other side of the glass, I'm going to see if i can put the safety baby gate thing up so no one falls into the pool.

It's going to be a good time, we're going to be productive and have fun doing it.

Feature film vs. Short film

Howdy, I hope you're having a nice day.

This is a comparison of the feature film to the short film.

Overall, both were very appealing to me. I loved the animation quality of both. The short film was a little more confusing than the actual film. That's reasonable because they could only fit so much into 7 minutes, y'know? Watching the actual feature film cleared up the misunderstanding I had in the short film. That's really cool. The feature film was definitely more "violent" than the short film. I put violent in quotation marks because I wouldn't classify it as violent. Obviously, they're different when it comes to animation. The movie 9 had almost 50 million in budget money, the short film probably didn't. The location and whoever helped animate it also played a role in that. Both were amazing in their own respective ways. The storyline? That was immaculate. The animations? That was amazing. I find it really cool when animators can give the characters that emotion. The looks on their faces when something bad has happened, it's incredible. For example, when 5 died in the film, you could see the grief in 9's face. Same with when whoever that was, died in the short film. Or when anyone died, you can see the emotions in the character's faces when it happens. I also thought adding the fact that the characters are all part of the scientist's soul was a really cool touch. That's such a rad idea.

9: The full film.

Hello, I hope you're having a good day.

I'm just getting ready to watch the 9 film. I was impressed with the short film, so I have high hopes for the full film. I'm about 10 minutes in, I don't understand why that one character is drawing all the symbols. But, I guess that's something I'll find out. It's cool that 9 is able to speak now. I'm at the 25-minute mark and, wow. It's really nice that 9 went back to save 2, and that they convinced 5 (I think it's 5, I might be wrong.) to come with them. It's been one minute and wow 9 killed 2 after saving them, what a bummer. 9 really said "I'm sorry" like he didn't just carelessly take the life of 2,, shameful. At the 36-minute mark, 9 is really out here calling out 1, what an icon. 4 minutes later, wow what a scene. That fight scene was so rad. Why is 1 so mean, everything that comes out of their mouth is so uncalled for. 53-minutes in, for the robots being extremely smart, they've fallen for the fake-cloth person a bunch of times. 56-minutes in, That was funny, just as you thought everything was going to be okay, they hit you with the big bad machine. It's really sad how 5 had to die, that's so sad. An hour in, that's so strange why did 9 touch the dead guy's face? I got to the end, and let me tell you,, The end was rough I almost cried. I thought they were going to go back to living and it'll all be okay, but no.

I found the ending really sad, but the entire thing was so good. I really liked the idea of the film, and I really like how they played the entire thing out. The animation was really good for 2009, better than the animation in the actual short film. I was not disappointed at all, I had high hopes and those high hopes were satisfied. I liked the story, and the animation, all the components are *chefs kiss*.

9 The short film

Hello, I hope you're having a terrific day.

I'm going to watch the 9 short film. I like films, so I'm excited. I'm about 2 minutes in. I'm super impressed with this, I like how the animation is high quality considering it's from 2009. The part where the monster sucked the life force out of number 5 (I'm pretty sure, I couldn't keep track of their numbers.) It startled me. I think it's cool that 9 wasn't able to talk, at least so far. You'd think it would be hard for a voiceless character to be able to communicate. Even though it's an animated short film, you can sense the fear and the panic in their faces every time they're met with a daunting task. I think their antagonist is very creative. A robot with a skull looking thing as a face? That's so cool. All the characters are really smart, their antagonist included. I thought the ending was confusing, though. What was that glowing orb? How did it do what it did? Questions like that.

Overall, I think the short film was amazing. It was really entertaining and it had a thriller-ey type feel. It gave me that, small anxiety feeling. It kept me on the edge of my seat, not literally though. It was really good, It'd given me high hopes for the feature film. I liked the concept, it's really interesting and I'm happy they made a feature film for it. Great ideas like these are what makes the world go around, y'know?

Genre Choice For The Film.

          Hi, I hope you're having a good night. :)

I'm going to explain my pitch and the genre and why I chose the genre. Okay, so, the pitch. It was originally something I was going to do with last year's final project. I didn't do it because I ended up working with Peter.  I'm on my own now, so I can choose what I want and I'm the only one to blame if something goes wrong. I came up with this pitch in particular because at the time I was thinking about stuff I could do myself. As you might have read through, I didn't work by myself so that was out of the picture. I picked the thriller genre because I like the genre. In a nutshell, Thriller is kind of like horror but with a more phycological and thinking aspect. There's the weird stuff that happens that doesn't seem useful to the plot, but it ends up being important, y'know? Anyways. I don't want my film to be extremely creepy because I have no clue how to do that. I don't know how to do stuff like that. I might teach myself, though. I picked the other two genres because I thought they were somewhat similar. Similar in a way that it would be more on the easy side to explain the aspects of the genre. At this point, I don't know if I'm going to have to change my pitch. I have no clue. So far I've come up with nothing better, so that's something to consider. I've also considered trying to pick something easier to film. I might not be able to have people over and I don't know if my brother would want to help. But it's all good. I'm going to figure everything out and it's all going to turn out great.

I hope so.

Anyways, Have a good rest of your day, here's a picture of Uncle Iroh, may he give you good advice and cool tea.

Genre Research- Action

Hello, I hope you're having a good evening.

CAMS in this genre. Common camera angles include high angles, low angles, wide angles, extreme wide angles, and such. Common camera shots include long shots, extreme long shots, eye-level shots, over the shoulder shots, full shots, aerial shots, establishing shots, shot reverse shots, and such. Common camera movements include zooms, tilts, pans, dollies, etc. In a lot of action movies, one of the goals is to show the whole character, that's a common thing found in superhero movies.

CLAMPS. Common costumes include superhero-ish clothing, formal wear, casual wear, and more. Common lighting includes usually dim, more on the lighter side lighting. Common acting includes classical acting, method acting, Meisner acting, and such. Common make-up includes regular common makeup, bloody makeup, superhero(for lack of a better term) makeup, and such. Common props include weapons, vehicles, masks, clothes, animals, etc. Common scenes include big cities or residential areas with lots of people. They want to make someone look cool so people can focus both on the character and the situation they're in.

Sound and editing. Common sound includes diegetic sound, non-diegetic sound, scores, aerial sounds, dialogue, and voiceovers. Common editing includes eyeliner matches, action matches, inserts, jump cuts, cutaways, dissolves, fade in, fade out, shot reverse shots, etc.

In all honesty, what I feel about the action genre depends on the film I'm watching. I don't usually like superhero stuff, but there are acceptions. Exceptions for me would include films like Deadpool, Birds of prey, Wonder Woman, and The Maze Runner films. I like stuff like that because I know that they're good, so. I don't know. I don't really like the kind of repetitive plots in the action genre. Most films are like, someone loses someone and needs to get honor or something. That's a lot of films but everyone with that plot executes it way differently which is cool. Superhero films are just full of a lot of pointless fights and that's not it for me.

I realize that the superhero stuff that I listed have repetitive, predictable fights, but the ones I listed are the ones that I found good. Anyways.

Genre Research- Horror

Hello, I hope you're having a terrific day.

CAMS of the Horror genre, that's going to be cool. Common camera angles include the high angle, low angle, dutch angle, medium angle, close up, extreme close up, etc. Common camera movements include tilts, pans, zooms, dollys, and dolly zooms. Common camera shots include establishing shot, over the shoulder shots, master shots, and such. This genre includes a lot of close face shots to capture emotions. One of the most liked aspects of this genre is the emotions it captures. The rush you get when you get the close-up of someone slowly slipping, it's astonishing.

CLAMPS. Common costumes in this genre include formal or casual wear. Common lighting is dark, or dim, but depending on the context it could be all light and cheery. Common acting can include method acting, classical acting, and such. Common make-up can include just casual blemish-covering makeup and gory-makeup. Common props mainly include weapons, dummies, just about anything. Common scenes include closed spaces, like houses, caves, warehouses, and basements. It's usually on the darker side. They want that creepy aspect, so sometimes they'll put that semi-well dressed person in a dark room with a bunch of people. Usually, they have a more eerie or disturbing vibe.

Common sound and editing. Common sound includes dialogues, diegetic sound, non-diegetic sound, ambient sound, scores (depending), and voiceovers(also depending). Common editing includes action matches, eyeline matches, inserts, jump cuts, cutaways, shot reverse shots, and such. Editing and sound are important in this genre, they want you to feel scared with what they're doing, they want you to feel unnerved. That's pretty cool.

I like horror films, they're cool. I like how they can mess with your mind with the plot twists and the insane skill of the actors. Some examples of films in this genre include IT, Pet Sematary, and Chucky.

Genre Research- Thriller

Hello, I hope you're having a nice day.

We're going to start the genre research sequence. Starting off with Thriller, here it is. Common camera angles include the high angle, low angle, dutch angle, medium angle, and such. Those are usually used to show disorientation and power. Common camera movements include pans, tilts, zooms, and such. Those are to show character movement, also to enhance the look on certain people's faces at certain points. Common camera shots include, two shots(three shots, etc) establishing shots, over-the-shoulder shots, close up shots, wide shots, etc. These shots help to develop character and also show the faces of the people. Shots and angles are very important in this genre, you gotta give the distortion in their faces and stuff like that.

CLAMPS. Common costumes in this genre just include formal or casual-wear. Common lighting for this genre is on the darker side usually, it's to give that eerie theme. Common acting includes craziness, disassociation, and such. Thrillers, (specifically phycological thrillers, but I guess it can carry over) sometimes involve someone with mental illnesses, the plot will revolve around their illness getting worse and in some cases, it drives them into insanity which will also be part of the plot. Common make-up consists of just, regular natural make-up, also some fake blood depending on the film. Common props include weapons and such. There are so many different props in the thriller genre there would be too many to name. There are mainly weapons in thriller films, though. Common settings include dark, secluded places. Abandoned places like warehouses or bunkers, or just out and the open.

Now, on to sound. Sound in this genre includes divergent sound, non-divergent sound, ambient sound, dialogue, incidentals, and such. Common editing in the thriller genre includes eye-line matches, action matches, shot reverse shots, cutaways, jump cuts, etc. Sound and editing are both important when it comes to any genre.

I like thriller movies. I like how they make you think, how there's usually something morbidly disturbing in every film. I like how some of them leave you on a cliffhanger. I like the really good ones that leave you wanting another part to the film. Thriller movies are really cool. A couple examples of thriller movies are The Invisible man, Split, and The Silence of the Lambs. I've watched the first two, they were really good movies. They both left me on an edge, they were both movies with really good plots.

I hope you have a good rest of your day.

Genres I would like to research

  Hello, I hope you're having a good day. :)

The last blog I did explained my pitch. I can admit, it's a little rough. That's not the point. Since the film is going to be about a stalker, I think it's fitting to make it a thriller or a horror film. I'm not 100% sure about that yet, so I'm going to research both the thriller and horror genre. I chose both of these not just because they fit the pitch, but because they seem like cool things to do. I looked up thriller and I'm leaning towards that as of now. I'm going to pick action as well. The three genres I'm going to research are Action. Thriller, and Horror. All of them can fit well with the pitch, and that's cool. I like all of the genres, they're all pretty cool. Coming up with the pitch was difficult. I didn't know what I was going to do and I'm still not 100% sure that I'm going to stick with it, but we'll see. There's a bunch of different genres that my pitch could've gone into. But then again, it would be kind of hard to make a movie about a stalker into a comedy or something like that, y'know? Anyways, I came up with the pitch after thinking about it for a while. That pitch was an idea I had last year, but I didn't pick it. Also, I'm working alone which is cool. I'm going to have to either work the camera and act in it or ask my brother to help again. My brother didn't do too bad the last time, but I don't know if he would want to help. I mean, I can just find someone else but oh well. It's something I can work out at another time.

Pitch Blog

Hello, I hope you're having a fantastic day.

The pitch:
It is a film about this person that thinks they are being watched, and someone familiar to them has a warning for them.

I picked the funniest stock photo I could find off google, enjoy.

Group Blog

Good evening, I hope you had a good day.

So tonight's blog is supposed to be describing the group we're working in. I chose to work alone for this project. I was contacted by my partner for the last project. He asked me if I wanted to work with him again. I sad no, here's why. For the projects last year when I worked with him, I feel like I carried the project. I don't want to do a lot of the project by myself when I know I have a partner. I'm not going to tell him that, of course. I'm going to say something like "my parents don't want me being around other people" or something. I know it's extremely shallow of me, but I don't know what to say to him. So yeah, I'm going to work alone. It's going to be a lot, but I'm fine with that.

Anyways. I haven't really thought about what I'm going to do for the project. I know that I might have to use my family as actors because I have no idea if my friends would be okay with helping me film. I don't want what happened during the music video to happen again. I feel like I'm just better off doing this whole project myself. I might need the help of at least one other person, which will probably be my brother. I can't act and if I'm working alone I'm the only one who knows camera angles and how to do them. I guess I'm looking forward to it. It's going to be a lot of work, but as I said it's all going to be okay. I just have to make sure not to procrastinate and be creative, but I can't promise anything. I think the thing I'm not looking forward to when it comes to this project is making social media accounts. In all honesty, I'm sensitive and I'd rather not see the bigoted opinions of old people on the internet. It's not just old people, I'd rather not see people call each other slurs or just not respect each other. My teacher said we need to gain followers, on the social media accounts we create. On sites like facebook, the followers would consist of my mother and her friends. That's going to make me self-conscious but I guess it doesn't really matter. The social media aspect is the only thing I'm worried about. I'm confident that I can get everything done by myself. I'm going to try my hardest to do the best I can.

That's about it, I hope you have a good rest of your day. Here, Have a meme.

Welcome Back !

Good evening! It's been a while!

It's been a couple months since the last blog, which is cool. We were on summer break. I didn't do anything extremely exciting, which is expected. I got a lot of hours on a Minecraft server, I watched a bunch of Netflix, and I went to Pennsylvania for 2 and a half weeks. Those were the most interesting things that had happened.

I got really into this Minecraft server, it was wonderful. I spend hours and hours working to get to the point I'm at now. I went to Pennsylvania for a week. All of my extended family lives in Pennsylvania, so we went there. We followed all of the safety guidelines, we drove instead of flying, that took a really long time. We all wore masks and washed our hands to avoid catching the virus and spreading it to my family. One unfortunate thing that did happen was that I left my pillow in the place we stayed at driving up there, it was very sad and I was upset, but oh well. When we got there we hung out with our family for the 2 and a half weeks, then we left. Oh also, on the way back from our trip we got a call from my aunt, she said my cousin had just tested positive for Covid-19 :). We then got home and quarantined for the recommended two weeks, but to be honest I've been here way longer than that. I watched Netflix! I got really, really into Avatar the last Airbender and Legend of Korra! I hold both of those programs really close to my heart. I plan on getting into other animated shows like She-ra. I really like Legend of Korra and She-ra for the LGBT representation, though. I think that's really cool.

The first weeks of school for me have been really stressful. I got a bunch of AICE and pre-AICE classes. It's not extremely hard, they just give a lot of work. The classes I'm struggling in most are Algebra 2 and Chemistry, but it's all good. I've had tests once a week the past 2 or 3 weeks from my Algebra 2 class, and that's not fun. I'm not very excited to get back to in-person school. Honestly, I like online school much better. I like being able to have a semi-flexible schedule and I like being able to sit in my chair all day and listen to teachers instead of going from class to class. I'm much more comfortable at home than I am at school. But then again, if I actually talked to the people I went to school with then what I said would probably be different.

That's about it, I hope you all have a good rest of your day.

Enjoy this picture of a turtle duck, I love this image.

2 minute film blog

Hello, I hope you're having a good day.

This is our final task. I'm not extremely proud of it, but it's up there. This was by far one of the most stressful things I have ever made. Working on it was so tiring. It wasn't just the filming and editing aspect, it was every aspect. Working with someone I didn't know at all, and having him come to my house. It was a very scary, stressful, and accomplishing time. Where to begin. It started off fairly smoothly. There was just the group  chemistry that made it hard to work. He wasn't a very reliable partner. He wasn't someone I'd turn to. So, I did a lot of the work by myself because I didn't want to have to rely on him. There was one instance, that caused me to do this. It was when we were doing the movie research for our genre, he waited until 11 the night it was due to send it to me. I have to get up at 5:40 for school, and I usually go to bed at 8 so I can go to sleep. That was when I took it upon myself. I edited almost the whole thing by myself. I was always answering his questions no matter what time it was. Even on things he wasn't associated with, for lack of a better term. He would ask me things about what to do with editing, though he almost never edited. I don't mean this as a "let's throw shade at my classmate because the project is over". No. It's me reflecting.

Even though it was stressful, I did it. I think it's pretty cool. Pretty early on, I noticed that all the things I had planned for it wouldn't fit into the 2 minutes. I was right, but we still got the most important parts in. This overall experience was pretty cool, I guess.

CCR blog

Hello, I hope you're having a nice day.

This is our CCR. This didn't take as long to film as the actual 2 minute film did. I didn't take as many takes, either. There weren't any hard times or little arguments between Peter and I, so that's good. When editing this, there were parts where i'd accidentally put the same question twice, which I'm lucky that I caught. At first, I was going to film my own individual CCR, but that didn't happen. He wanted to do it like a SAW interview, which I wouldn't be able to do. Because sadly, I haven't seen all of the SAW movies, so I wouldn't know how to do it. There's not much of a creative aspect here, but it's better than just staring at the camera the whole time. As I might've said above, there wasn't many problems just in general.

In the backround you can hear my dad talking on the phone. I don't remember exactly what they were talking about, but he's not a very quiet guy. Anyway. There was only one major problem with the CCR editing process. I put the screenshots at the end, there ended up being over 2 minutes of just black screen. It took a while, but I figured out how to get rid of it. I'm pretty proud of it, I guess.

Music Video Blog

Hello, I hope you're having a good day.

This is my music video. I was actually really proud of this for whatever reason. Here's the thing with the music video. I'm sure I blogged about this at the time, but here it is again. I invited four or five friends to film this video with me. I gave them all the same message and information of when to come and what we were doing. All of them said they could go. So that Saturday came around and I sat outside for hours waiting for them. I'm pretty sure I cried, but I don't remember. One of them said in order for him to do, he'd have to come an hour earlier than planned and I said that was fine. He was the only one who said he couldn't end up going. Everyone else said they couldn't go after hours of me sitting and waiting. I was very upset. But I pulled through. I filmed with my mom and my brother. It ended up being a lot of fun and I like how the video turned out. I showed the finished product to my mom, and she said the song didn't really go with the video. But oh well. Now looking at it, I don't really like the first clip. My brother was very,, I can't think of the word. At first, It was going to be me getting up because it was going to be me thinking about the people. But it ended up just being me filming because I couldn't get my mom or brother to understand how the camera worked.

When editing this, I don't think I ran into any problems. I don't think I had to re-film anything either. Wowie, the perks of working alone. You may or may not question the computer or uno game. The thing is, all those friends were friends I made in middle school. All the people that I invited to film were people I met in 8th grade. I used to play uno and that computer game all the time with all of these people. Almost anytime we could. It was a good time. Kind of unrelated, but now most of us dropped one of them as a friend and one other person might be dropped in the near future. That's fun.

Commercial Blog

Hello again, I hope you're still having a good day.

This is my commercial. I don't remember what the time frame I did this was, But I'm pretty sure it was October or November of last year. It was supposed to be an anti vaping commercial. I agree, It's bad. But I honestly think that it's kind of good, considering I was only a couple weeks into the class when I had to film this. My original intent was to make it funny, but that didn't work. I wanted to add the little zooms and stuff, but I couldn't figure it out. I don't know why I put "subtitles". They're not even subtitles. They're just words that go after like two scenes. Also, why does my voice sound so high pitches? I'm like a hyena. Why did I think I was funny when I put "sksk that vape away"? I vividly remember being in class thinking of that and almost laughing out loud. I have such a horrible sense of humor, heck.

Anyway, as far as I can remember, editing this wasn't that complicated. I only say that because there wasn't that many "complex" things put into it. There were no transitions or effects or anything like that for that matter. I'm pretty sure the only problems I ran into was the fact that I couldn't get the camera onto the tripod. I mean, I ended up doing it, but it was crooked. I couldn't figure out how to make the camera still because the thing was loose. If that makes sense. I remember while filming this someone walked up to me asking where building 8 was. It was funny.

Editing blog

Hello, Welcome. I hope you're having a nice day.

This is a screenshot of the video in the editing software. That's Peter and that's me on the screen.

Today is Thursday the 9th. I started and finished editing relatively quickly. The only challenge I've had so far was going through and finding the clips to put in and to not put in. I ended up finishing my work last night 10 minutes before it was due (11:49). That was fun. I had a breakdown twice, that was fun as well. I went in and edited the footage for the CCR. It came out to be a little less than 15 minutes. I was afraid that just answering the questions wouldn't be enough time, I was wrong. As of right now, I don't know how I'm going to put the projects into blogger. But then again, I could just read through the Microsoft teams. Actually, I did do that. I did that earlier and someone asked if they could upload it to youtube and put it on a google slides thing and put that in the blog, and it got a yes. I think I'm just going to do that.

I actually thought I could edit yesterday. Wow, what a clown I am. I had so much going on. I had a whole bunch of assignments for french, math, and general paper. I sat at my desk all day, which was not good for my legs. I don't really like talking about my social life, but here I go, I guess. I'm not going to go into explicit detail, but something happened in my friend group and it caused 5 of 7 people to get really upset at the other two. It's a very frustrating situation that I feel like I caused but I know that it wasn't me. Thank you. Back to editing. I plan on taking screenshots of some scenes in the video and inserting them into the CCR. Other than that, that's it.\

I was going to make a "see you tomorrow" thing but I'm going to be posting other blogs today. Anyway, Have a good rest of your day, Stay safe, wash your hands.

Editing blog

Hello, I hope you're having a nice day.

That's a picture of my footage in my footage folder.

Today, Wednesday the 8th, I started editing the CCR. I can explain why it's not done yet, though. I was very, very busy today. I've been sitting in this chair almost all day doing school work. I almost had a breakdown twice in the process. I had a whole bunch of french word, math work, and general paper work to do that I didn't realize was due today. I'm actually writing this while in the process of watching an Algebra nation video for an assignment. I think I sat here for 4 hours just doing French work. It's so hard to stay motivated to do schoolwork while at home. There's so many distractions and I hate it with a passion. Then, there's teachers like my general paper teacher that say stuff like "I don't want to stress you guys out with work" then proceed to assign 5 things a week with horrible instructions and 7 parts to them. It's frustrating, but I'm a kid in quarantine so what am I gonna do about it?

Anyway, I edited today. I'm not actually done yet, I've only imported the footage. I plan to stay up to edit it instead of doing it tomorrow. Also, I haven't been able to see if all the clips go to the proper time. So that'll be fun to see when/if I have only like 9 minutes. I doubt that, but still. Going back to the whole online school thing. It's so stressful. It's so stressful because you're a child at home, with zero time management skills and 7 teachers giving 10 assignments due a week. I get it, we're at home and not doing anything. But, even then, there's things that keep people from doing work. For example, me, I can't get to my work until 12 or 1 because I need to help my little brother with his work on my computer. It makes it 10 times worse when you have teachers that can't explain clearly what they want done.

Have a good rest of your day, Stay safe, wash your hands,

Filming Blog

Hello, I hope you're having a good day.

I apologize for the messy room, but that's where the camera was. It was filming my computer screen. It was there to record Peter answering his questions.

Today is Tuesday the 7th, and I filmed with my partner and my friends. As of right now, 12:46 pm, we haven't filmed yet. I'm going to keep it updated. The plan is to get on a skype call and film and answer the questions. We would both ask and answer questions. If the answering questions didn't hit the required time, then I am going to get on a skype call with my friends and film their reactions to the video. Again, as of right now I have two friends willing to let me record them watching the video. The planned time was 1:30. It's now 1:25 and he texted me saying he wanted to do it a little bit later, 1:40 he said. It is a couple hours later. We ended up filming at 2:30. It didn't take as long as I thought it would. We tried to make the questions as long as possible, but they all ended up coming out 2-3 minutes long. It was okay, I guess. At one point, I answered half of a question and he didn't realize his headphones were still plugged in so the camera couldn't hear me.

Right now, I'm using my SD card reader to get the footage. I hope Peter read my Skype message because it asked him to email me the footage. I really hope that it's not going to be like last time where I couldn't find the footage. I found the footage. There were about 26 clips. A lot of them are clips that I can't use. Like they were cut because something messed up and stuff. He emailed me the footage through google photos. That was difficult to figure out because the "download all" button doesn't work. I'm going to get everything set up so I can edit tomorrow. Also, It's night time and I went outside to film an establishing scene part. I had realized that I had forgotten to do that.

Well, that's it. I hope you have a good rest of your day. Stay safe, wash your hands.

Editing Blog

Hello, I hope you're having a good day.

That's our edited film.

Today is March 5th, and yesterday I finished editing. I finally found a good editing app that I could use. It took a minute to find and figure out everything but I got through it. I managed to put all the footage into it and add the music and the titles. For a third or fourth time, I'm going to talk smack about my partner. There was a title google slides presentation that was made by my partner a while back. It was supposed to give me a guide as of how to put the titles and what they're supposed to look like. Everything he put didn't make sense. He said things like "small but big" and "bold but hard to see" that's not specific and that's not something I can work with. I texted him that he didn't make sense in that and he said to make the titles look mysterious. I don't know how you can make a title mysterious, but okay. I edited the titles into the film and I exported and sent it to him. I told him in the email that I'm not 100% percent worried about the placement of the titles. This is because all of the things are due the ninth and we haven't even filmed the ccr. He goes on to tell me that the spirit part of the film doesn't fit into it. The spirit part was the pitch, we can't just change the pitch. He's trying to change the entire thing. He's just giving me suggestions upon suggestions upon suggestions, but he's not the one editing of filming it. He's telling me that I'm doing stuff wrong and there should be other things is it, but he's not going to do it himself.

Anyway, back to the editing part. I didn't place the titles anywhere. There were sample things and I typed what I needed to type in them. The titles are in different places, yes. But there's no effects on the titles. It's just bold red lettering. I got it done to get it done. I did that so if we run out of time, I wouldn't have to rush and do titles. It's a start, I'm going to change it if I have time. Correction, when I have time. I'm going to try to film the ccr tomorrow so I can get it done and edited as soon as possible. That's another thing, coming up with ccr ideas. We have to be creative, my partner suggested we do something like the interviews in the saw movies. The problem with that is I've never seen the saw movies. But he's bossing me with that too. He's talking to me suggesting things like he's the one who's going to film and edit it. I was thinking more like an interview like how Shane Dawson does on his channel, or a video call between a friend and a friend. But that'd be funny because we're not friends.

That's it. Goodbye, stay safe, wash your hands.

Editing blog

Hello, I hope you're having a good day.

(This is the app I use)

Today is April 3rd, and I've lost track of how many days I've been inside. Because of the pandemic spreading, we don't have school until May 1st, but I've been told that the date might change. Media wise, It's not looking to good for me. To be 100% honest, I've been slacking. I have been busy with other things that I haven't even filmed the CCR. I'm not even done editing the movie yet. I found a different editing app, but I might need to find another one because I don't think I can add music to it. I'll get to talking about editing, I'm going to throw shade at my partner. I am not a confrontational person, so him annoying me angers me silently. I can't tell him that I don't want to talk to him. I don't think he knows that I can see what questions he asks on the Microsoft teams app. I say this because he texts me the same question he posted on the Microsoft teams. For example, he asked a couple days ago if there was a blog. It was the 30th and he had asked on the forum if there was a blog due, and everyone replied saying no.

There was even an announcement my teacher made saying there wasn't a blog due. He still blew up my phone demanding answers from me. He would ask while I was busy, then respond with the seemingly annoyed "Hello?"'s. How are you going to text me at 11 at night and expect me to reply right away? That's not something I'll ever tell him though. I can't tell someone right to their face to not talk to me 24/7 unless I have a very, very strong hatred for that person. (Don't worry, He's getting there). Also, He has the nerve to talk to me in this assertive tone as if he's carrying the project. He's not, I am. I'm filming it. I'm editing it. I'm carrying the project and he's acting like he's running everything. I only do this because I don't trust him. I can't rely on him for anything. He's edit it and sent is to me 5 minutes before it's due. Anyway, back to editing. I scoured the internet for another editing app. I think I was successful. I checked to see if there was a thing for a watermark, There was no watermark and I didn't have to pay for it. The only problem I'm seeing so far is that I can't figure out how to insert music into it, or if I can insert music at all. I don't know if there's a solution for this. I haven't put titles in it yet, I'm going to figure that out tomorrow. I don't know if I'll run into any other problems, but I really hope I don't.

Goodbye, Stay safe, Wash your hands.
I'm sorry that this whole thing was about my partner.

Re-Filming blog

Hello, I hope you're having a good day.

That's my hand with sharpie on it, the camera, and my foot. Today, Friday March 20th, we did our re-filming. Well, we filmed the parts we had and re-did some of the parts we already had. I had told Peter to come over at 8:00-8:30 and he ended up coming at almost 9:30. A first downside. Yes, this entire blog is just going to be me throwing shade. In the already edited part (which I'll have to redo) that goes over 1:30. He doesn't understand that we can't do the whole planned thing in under two minutes. My brother was being a pain because he didn't want to be in it even though I had already given him what he wanted before the whole thing happened. We had to redo almost every clip because Peter thought it wasn't good enough. The whole thing took way too long. We started at 9:30 it's now 11:50. We stopped filming 10 minutes ago. Not a fun time.

Currently, my mother is frustrated with me because of me making her sit in her room for two hours. That probably sucked for her. At one point, Peter had to film. That was really funny because I was sitting in the kitchen with my dog listening to them. They were just making strange noises, it was hysterical. I was sitting there trying to export the video that I had edited to send to Peter, and I can't. I edited the whole thing on that app and I'm just now figuring out that I need to pay for the watermark to not be there. It's upsetting, but it is my fault. I should've done actual research on it instead of the first thing that popped up. Today's experience? 3/10. Would not recommend.

I hope you have a good rest of your day, stay safe. Goodbye.

Re-Edit blog

Hello, I hope you're having a nice day.

Today is March 18th, 2020, and I re-edited the footage we have. Here's the situation. I'm pretty sure it was Friday the 13th that the Broward county superintendent Robert W. Runcie announced that because of the corona virus, students won't be coming back to school until after spring break. I'm pretty sure that has been extended, but I'm not sure. After sitting there with my mother filled with excitement and slight anxiety, I emailed my Media teacher about the returning of the camera equipment. She had told us the last class we had with her that the cameras were to be returned by Monday the 16th, but since we wouldn't have school, we couldn't do that. She emailed me back saying to return them the next school day we had and to stay safe. The next day I got another email from her to check canvas and to spread the word about it. I looked at canvas and it had all the information I could need about blogs, returning the camera equipment, ccr, and the final task. I spread the word about this to my filming partner, Peter. Speaking of the ccr, since we can't edit in school, she told us to find a free editing app without a watermark. I'm pretty sure I found one called filmora 9 and so far it works.

It's the next day. I edited everything I needed to edit. I added music aswell.

It's two days later and there's a problem. Today we filmed which will be in the next blog. I'm now exporting it and just now seeing that I need to pay for it to not have a watermark. That's upsetting considering I just edited everything on it. Oh well, I guess.

Editing Blog

Hello, I hope you're having a nice day.

So, Today I officially started editing. I say I because I'm the only one doing it as of right now. It's my job to edit the footage and add the music, and it's my partners job to put in the titles. He has to put in the titles because he's the one who made the title designs. So he'd be the one to make the titles. I got all the footage we have together. All the usable clips. I trimmed the footage and put them in their correct order. Not surprisingly, I sat on youtube for almost 20 minutes because I couldn't find a song to use. I wish I had done this earlier, but I didn't, so oh well I guess. After digging through the depths of this video website, I found a soundtrack thing to use. I copy and pasted the link of the video to my email and emailed it to myself so I can download it when I get home. For context of why I did this, I have a video downloader on my computer at home. Since I can't download things directly from youtube, that's how I'm gonna do it. After that I'm either going to put the downloaded video on a USB or email it to myself again. It's a whole process that I may or may not forget to do tonight. Also, a little explanation for the picture. That's the editing program and everything I've edited so far. Oh, and there's Peter. I put the footage on the bottom on the bottom because those are the only clips with relevant sound. The rest of the footage we have is going to have music over it so it's silenced. I'm going to put the music in the 4th track slot on the bottom below the lowest footage. Once we film again, other clips with sound will go in the bottom track as well.

Of course, Something bad has to happen every time we do something. Right after I typed all of this, I realized that the computer had 10%. So I started saving and closing everything to get ready to log out and put the computer back. I save and close the movie, and guess what happens. I open it back up again to see that the footage I had just edited was no longer there. It didn't save. Well, farewell for now the computer is on 7%.

"Filming" Blog

Hello, I hope you're having a nice day. The picture might make sense if you read the paragraphs.

So this weekend, we were supposed to film. But sadly, again, we weren't able to. I had full intentions of filming Sunday, but he ended up not being able to come. So here's what I did instead, I guess. My weekend was pretty chaotic. Well, Saturday was, Sunday not so much. I spent Friday and half of Saturday mentally, physically, and emotionally getting ready for the best night of my life. You may ask, Taylor, Why was Saturday night so special? Well, I witnessed something fantastic. I went and saw the mean girls performance at the Broward center of performing arts!! I'll start from the beginning. It was a nice, Friday night. My mother and I were at Target to get prepared for this marvelous event. So there we stood, in the mens section with the nice collard shirts. My mother and I were debating on weather I should get the shirt with lobster, birds, lizards, or cacti on it. I got the one with the cacti, It's a nice pink shirt with little green cacti on it, What a good time. We then went to Chili's where we got our food for that night. I'll say this, Chili's mashed potatoes are the best thing to ever exist and you can not change my mind. Anyway, I woke up Sunday morning, my stomach was aching with excitement, or it was because I hadn't eaten anything since 8:00 p.m. the previous day and stayed up until 2:00 a.m. Unimportant. My mother came to me later that morning with a suggestion, she said we should go to wawa (a very nice gas station you can get milkshakes from) and scope out food places near the performing arts center. So that's what we did.

Fast forward to that night. I was sitting at some taco place down the street from the center with my mother. The food wasn't that good, but it's fine. The event started at 8:00 p.m. and it was still 7:00 p.m. so we walked around to kill time. Later, we went inside to get situated and find our seats. We got metal detected as we walked in the door and there we were. We found the merchandise booth where I bought a pack of 6 pins for 15 dollars. We then made it up the stairs. I don't remember where we were sitting, but we had a pretty good view. We were up and right, and we had a pretty good view of the stage. Also, We got playbills, that's really cool. Then, the musical started after a while of sitting there. I was anxious the whole time with the thought "wow this is the best night of my life" and the disappointing part is that I don't remember a lot of the performances. I was very happy with seeing this musical, I wasn't disappointed in the slightest. The one thing that wasn't so nice was that the song "It Roars" was almost entirely changed, but that's fine. I went on instagram later that night and saw that Barrett Wilbert Weed was departing from the (I'm pretty sure) New York mean girls cast which was saddening. She's one of my favorite Broadway actresses, and played one of my favorite musical characters. But she's moving on to do better things, so I'm happy for her. The picture above are the characters, Cady, Janis, and Damian from the mean girls musical cast. Fun Fact, all three have departed as of right now.

Peer Review Blog

Hello, I hope you're having a nice day.

So we did peer reviews today, which was pretty cool. The group we were reviewing had good stuff for not being finished with it.

Here are the pictures of the peer review sheet. We had to review the time, the story, the titles, the lighting, the sound, the time things happened, what we liked about it, and a suggestion. I graded accordingly because they weren't done with everything. Like I didn't put that they had no titles, I said I can't say. I liked the filming most. I liked how they handled the camera. There were two things that weren't so great about the film. There were parts were you could hear people talking in the backround, and there was one scene where you could see the person filming through the reflection of the window. But personally, I think the talking is a bigger issue (for lack of a better word) than the reflection of the guy int the window. It's a bigger issue because the talking is something that's easier to fix. You could just put music over the parts where there's talking but you would have to reshoot it to get the guy out of the reflection.

Another thing I noticed was that at one point there were people sitting on a bench and the person was supposed to zoom in on them. The only thing I have to say to that is the zooming wasn't very clean. It'd zoom, then stop, then zoom, then stop all in a matter of a couple seconds. The zooming was the only thing bad I noticed with the actual filming. I also liked the story. It's about someone going to a park with their kid and the kid gets snatched, It's a really cool concept that they pulled off pretty well. The sound and lighting is also pretty good. The sound is good for being filmed outside. The lighting is good for filming the night time scene.

So overall it was really nice to watch and if it were a full movie, I'd want to watch the rest.
